A little girl in search of the perfect playmate

A mother and father promise their child anything she wants for her birthday. When little Flora (Kaitlin Cheung) demands a sister, an eager Mrs. Chen (Elfina Luk) and a reluctant Mr. Chen (Nelson Wong) set out on a journey to adopt a baby girl. But to their dismay, what actually matters to Flora is the color of her future sister. How far will they go to satisfy their daughter with the perfect birthday gift?

About Olesia Shewchuk (Director)
Olesia Shewchuk is an award-winning director and actress in Vancouver. Her film Mime vs. Junkie won Best Universal Language Film at the Cambofest 2009 and a Rising Star Film Award at the Canadian International Film Festival 2010. Currently she will be appearing as a Slavic ballet instructor in the feature film, Lost and Found (Lamarque Film). She graduated from the Seattle Film Institute Production Program, and has an honours degree in chemical physics from the University of Winnipeg.

About Anna Wang (Writer)
Born Yuan Wang in Beijing, China, Anna Wang is one of the “New Generation” writers highly thought of by the critics at the turn of the 21st century. She has published six books in Chinese,
including four novels, one collection of short stories and one collection of essays. Her short stories have been anthologized many times over the years and she was Youth Literature Writer of the Year 2000. After moving to Canada in 2007, she translated The Cinema of Martin Scorsese (Lawrence S. Friedman) into Chinese (coming out in Fall, 2010). She is currently living in Richmond and studying in the Department of Writing for Film and Television at Vancouver Film School.
