New Asia Film Festival is a community-based annual event committed to showcasing cutting-edge films and media art works from around the world. Centred on contemporary and progressive themes related to Asian cultures, this festival provides a rare opportunity for local residents to see films that are not readily available for viewing in Canada and to enjoy cinema as an art form.

As the first international film festival in the City of Richmond, one of the fastest growing and most culturally diverse metropolises in Canada, our mission is to promote films and new media art works, to introduce new Asian cinema, to stimulate critical thinking and new means of expression, and to foster intercultural understanding and communication.

New Asia Film Festival is co-presented by the City of Richmond and Cinevolution Media Arts Society.
